A few ways to nourish your Mind- Body and Soul.

Often times we get in the habit of waking up with a laundry list of things to-do that day and roll out of bed to begin the process of our morning routine, grooming, grabbing a jolt of caffeine, a bite of food, getting dressed and then we are off to the races….

But what if we made some time to give ourselves more than that, would our days be any different?

Speaking for myself, I have found my days to be sweeter when I give myself a little extra TLC. The first thing I do is set my alarm to wake up before anyone else does (well humans at least, my fur babies get up with me). I have found that I get excited knowing this is my ME time and what am I going to do with it today? Often times I start with sitting in front of my altar filled with my most favorite crystals, and a sweet little clay momma & baby elephant that my daughter made me years ago. I light a candle (especially when its still dark outside) and sit on a soft cushion, close my eyes, take some deep breathes and tune in. Sometimes the “list” starts running so I will acknowledge it and set it aside. I keep doing this until I finally feel that sweet beautiful calmness that is deep within all of us. I usually don’t have a set time, I just let myself go until I feel ready to open my eyes and give gratitude to myself for that gift.

Who doesn’t love sipping on a nice cup of something warm, instead of slamming it into a to-go cup and running out the door? I do love coffee/tea, but I have days when my body wants something more nourishing, that is when I’ll have ceremonial Cacao. Ceremonial Cacao is sourced thoughtfully, prepared ceremonially and enjoyed with intention, Cacao is a potent energetic medicine that cannot compare to your regular chocolate bar (disclaimer: I still love me some dark chocolate with salt and almonds in it). I love the deep rich, yet spicy taste of ceremonial cacao. It is very heart opening both spiritually and physically due to the theobromine that stimulates the cardiovascular system. Another nourishing treat for the body is medicinal mushrooms like Reishi, Astragalus, Lion’s Mane, or Chaga, just to name a few. They all have such amazing healing properties like stress relief, improved sleep, cancer-fighting properties, glowing skin, and a near-cure for the common cold. They are easily accessible in store or online and come in single serving packets that just dissolve into whatever you put them in. Take the time to find some, believe me your body will thank you for it.

Now if you really want to indulge, one of my favorite things to do is to make a glorious bubble bath. This is not your child’s bubble bath though, this is a “Calgon take me away” kind of bubble bath! I add 2 cups of Epsom salt, bubble bath, a mixture of essential oils; 10-15 drops each of my go to’s which are; geranium ( clears skin, calms nerves), lavender (relieves stress, eczema, depression, promotes sleep), vetiver ( calming, grounding effect on emotions), and lemon (eases stress, stimulates immune system). The final but very important detail is to have several candles lit surrounding you. Climb in, close your eyes and inhale the healing aromatherapy, soak in the healing water, and give gratitude for this gift to yourself.

These are just a few ways to nourish your mind body soul, but if we can just give a few of these little gifts to ourselves, life’s stresses will suddenly not be as exhausting as it sometimes feels.
Love & Light,
Marissa Rae

  1. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I do think that you should publish more about
this topic, it may not be a taboo subject but generally
people don’t discuss these topics. To the next! Cheers!!
